TODAY'S STEPS

READ:  Matthew 19

REFLECT:  Why is it so "difficult" for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven?

RESOLVE:  List three items that make you "rich."  Then, pray for God to use them for His glory, or for courage to let them go.

  1. This is a tough question, but I think its because even if the rich man obeys the Bible and seeks God, his real god is money. I have friends who are wealthy though who have God first in their life, so its hard to say?

  2. It is harder for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven because as far as earthly needs go he can completely take care of himself. Or at least that is what he sees going on... With someone who does not have much and then must rely on God for their day to day needs know what it is to have to trust God.

  3. Things that make me rich:
    1. His presence.
    2. Family.
    3. Friends.

  4. Thank you for putting this together everyday. I have enjoyed the journey through Mathew. To me Jesus is saying in this parable that we (I) have a more difficult time surrendering my stuff and following Him alone than for a camel to walk through the eye of a needle. I wouldn't consider myself rich but I do think it would be hard for me to give up all that I do have and just follow God.

  5. I love the picture!...we are all spoiled...it's one thing to say something, but it's another thing to do something...in 1896 Judson W. VanDeVenter wrote All to Jesus I Surrender
