Faith WOD

TODAY'S STEPS

READ:  Matthew 21 (again)

REFLECT:  Why did Jesus curse a fig tree?

RESOLVE:  Ask God to grant you one request that will allow you to bear fruit for His glory.  Ask in faith.

"And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”

  1. The fruit of a fig tree would have been expected if the tree had leaves. This tree was to be a metaphor of what would come to those that promise fruit of the holy spirit and not deliver anything. Those that try and present the appearance of salvation & authority but don’t deliver. Thru this he shows his authority to the disciples in just his words showing his power over the earth and everything within it. While also telling them that if they had true faith, they could move mountains.

My one request would be, only to not be deceived by learning and to truly purse the fruit. That if there was anything in my life keeping me from this, that He would expose it and allow me flush it out, so that I could be full of the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

  2. The tree was cursed, because it did not bear fruit as it should have. I ask God to away self-doubt that will hinder me from sharing His Word with those in need.
