Catch yourself saying, or thinking, the words “have to” - and substitute “get to” every chance you can.
Example: “I HAVE TO go to this meeting!”
Substitute: “I GET TO go to this meeting!”

“In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. 12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. 13 Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness. 14 For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace.” (Romans 6:11-14)

Thanks so much for sharing. I have used this phrasing often and thought that I was the only crazy one! When things are overwhelming and feel like a huge burden…
Wow, I get to get up and go to work….
“I get to put on my special needs child’s shoes, again…
I get to help out at school, again….
I get to talk with 5 more clients today….”
It is amazing how rephrasing turns my heart to a grateful heart instead of a complaining one.
