Spiritual Weekend WOD - 2/17/2012 to 2/19/2012

Commit this passage to memory: "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4 Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6 But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind." (James 1:2-6)

  1. I love this passage on so many different levels! When your trials become overwhelming it is easy to question God's plan or question what God wants from you. This verse helps me maintain my smile and I can face my troubles head on with my faith at my side; it relieves me of my doubt.

  2. Big verse and big meaning! Why is it easy to persevere physically, but not so easy spiritually? My WOD: ask and believe.

  3. i've learned(usually the hard way) to ask for wisdom every day and sometimes every hour as i have a tendency to try to escape before attaining mature perseverencein a circumstance. therefore causing another circumstance to arise to further teach me the art of persevering to maturity. thank God for His loving kindness and longsuffering!!
