"According to an old Irish legend, or possibly history, St Bridget struck a deal with St Patrick to allow women to propose to men – and not just the other way around – every 4 years. This is believed to have been introduced to balance the traditional roles of men and women in a similar way to how Leap Day balances the calendar.

In some places, Leap Day has been known as “Bachelors’ Day” for the same reason. A man was expected to pay a penalty, such as a gown or money, if he refused a marriage proposal from a woman on Leap Day. In many European countries, especially in the upper classes of society, tradition dictates that any man who refuses a woman's proposal on February 29 has to buy her 12 pairs of gloves. The intention is that the woman can wear the gloves to hide the embarrassment of not having an engagement ring. During the middle ages there were laws governing this tradition." 1. the Bible says that we are in the world but not of the world. so blessed and glad that i belong to another kingdom where the Builder and Maker is God. the traditions of this world are foolishness adn will pass away one day, but not one jot nor tittle will pass from God's Word.

  2. Great post Carolie! I agree 100%! I have to say I am so glad I found this post as I was wondering if there were any CF Boxes around the country that openly share their faith! I attend a box in the Boston area and it is harder to be open about your faith there. I am blessed to have some other brothers and sisters in Christ who attend with me, but I am so glad that the Lord has lead CF Faith to come about as well as lifting Rich F to the status that He has put him to be a witness for the Faith. God bless you all and I plan to check this site each day to help keep my walk strong!

  4. I'm new to CrossFit Faith and thus far have been truly blessed by the simple yet complex devotionals shared. To often we over complicate Christs teachings and lose focus of Gods word. When reading today's scriptures I was reminded of God's grace and mercy. This is extremely evident when examining the bad traditions and habits in my life. Thank you Jesus for always, always being there.

  8. This is a common relationship of how a spiritual reason, for example, an assault by an apparition (John) can cause an issue in life, for example, a heart condition (for example the water on the floor).סיינטולוגיה

  10. Spirituality is living life as it was meant to be... not as we may have desired or wanted living it. Living a life of choice is not the forte of all human beings.love tarot reading online
