Faith Weekend WOD - 3/30/2012 to 4/1/2012

Add to your knowledge...

Commit this passage to memory"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

9 Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!" (Matthew 7:7-11)

  1. I was trying to do things my way; I was trying to provide for myself, and I fell into misery once again. I asked for release; I received release. Here I am, standing tall and strong, by the grace of God. And I am filled to be emptied again. That's the hardest lesson to learn. Today's great, tomorrow could be a total disaster. But no matter what, I AM - and I will be filled again. I will seek, and I will find. God's promises do not disappoint. When you're in the middle of catastrophe, it may be difficult to see how God could possibly be working in your life, but as long as you leave your life in His hands, you will receive what he promises: the peace that surpasses all understanding.

Matthew is my favourite of the Gospels. The lessons taught through this gospel are so simple, and many of them boil down to one fact: God provides. And whether you say God, or the Universe, or Providence, it is goodness, it is love, and whatever it is, it provides.
