Write these three Scripture passages on a 3x5 note card. Read it every hour, on the hour...
1 - "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47 And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that?" (Matthew 5:44-47)
2 - "For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. " (Matthew 6:14-15)
3 - "See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many." (Hebrews 12:15)

these passages also make me think of the parable of the Good Samaritan :)
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great exercise for me. I work with so many people that it's so easy to dislike them and forget about them. This is such a great reminder to love those who I don't really care for, or should I say those who treat me wrong.
ReplyDeletegreat challenge :) this has always been a weakness for me to love the unloveable(in my estimation) not in God's. i continually ask God to give me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me. thanks for the daily challenges.
ReplyDeleteGood challenge for the day. It's nice to be reminded by my watch beeper to take time and meditate even if for just 5 minutes every hour. I have found myself jotting little notes on the note card about what the passage is saying to me and how to apply it.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed this one.
