  1. The most obvious is in not cursing, especially by not taking the Lord's name in vain, not gossiping, and using our words to build up, bless and encourage.

  2. 1. Speak less, listen more - "In the multitude of words sin is not lacking but he who restrains his lips is wise." - Proverbs 10:19
    2. Build up others with our words, not cut them down.
    3. Always full of grace (Colossians 4:6)

  3. Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. Eph. 4:29

The tongue should be tamed, like in James 3, it should be used to build others up (edify), and it should advance the gospel

  4. such wonderful answers. I confess to having fallen short today and used a word unnecessarily that I needed to repent for. thank God for His forgiveness as my word did not build up, bless nor encourage! pray that I can better follow the scriptures that are mentioned above.
