Faith WOD - 9/6/2012

Review the three accusations from Tuesday's workout.  Then, identify an instance in your life that God has already proven each accusation to be false.

"David said to Saul, “Your servant has been keeping his father’s sheep. When a lion or a bear came and carried off a sheep from the flock, 35 I went after it, struck it and rescued the sheep from its mouth. When it turned on me, I seized it by its hair, struck it and killed it. 36 Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he has defied the armies of the living God. 37 The Lord who delivered me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” (1 Samuel 17:34-37)

  1. God blesses those who are faithful. Today my son is traveling to Afganistan. On one of his stops he was eating and received a tap on his shoulder. It was his favorite officer from his time at West Point. This Major is a committed Christian and really mentored my son (I have meet him several times). I am worried not only about my son's safety, being in harms way, but about his spiritual walk with God. How like God to send this Major to encourage my son. It warms my heart. God is good.

On a side note, I would appreciate your prayers for my son. He will be deployed for nine months. He has done crossfit since his plebe (freshman) year. So six years. He is level one certified and loves it (his soldiers moan when they see that he is leading PT). He is married and became a father three weeks ago. His name is Jon. Thank you.

  2. having a son in the military, Sandy, I understand the importance of prayer, especially to a mom. I will not only myself pray for Jon and his family, his name will go on our church military prayer list. may God, Himself, be your peace as a mom as well as the rest of the family.

  4. I am unsure of a specific accusation, but when I am referred to as 'church girl' as if it were something bad, I feel that is an accusation that is good and positive.
YES! Thank you ladies for your fine Christian sons! I will keep them in my fervent prayers!
