JOURNEY - DAY 6

TODAY'S STEPS

In Your Journal:

#1 - Write a prayer of praise that is inspired by the words of this passage.  Make it personal to you.

#2 - Reflect on the last 24 hours.  How did the Lord work in your personal life, your professional/academic life, and your relationships?

STUDY

Identify a powerful example of "TOUGHNESS" - past or present.

*Share your example on Comments.

"Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not treat prophecies with contempt 21 but test them all; hold on to what is good, 22 reject every kind of evil.

23 May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it."

  1. What a powerful passage and video! I personally reflected on the fact that when I don't get those prayers answered I tend to go away from God and attempt to do it myself. Each day I am in the word I feel more comfort and I feel like a better suited spiritual leader in my home.

Personally this is what came to mind as I thought of an example of toughness

  4. When I think of “Toughness” I think of leather, it has the ability to be warped and worked, braided and branded, but it takes an incredible forced to break it. I don’t see toughness so much as a physical attribute as I do a mental one, as someone who has faced many mental challenges in my very short lifetime; I know what it is like to be hammered over and over again, even to the point of breaking.

  5. I think "Toughness" is when we let go and trust in God. He is faithful and he will do it. It is too easy to put our trust in our own abilities. Toughness is when we are scarred or the risk is great and we move forward, trusting God no matter.
