JOURNEY - DAY 8

TODAY'S STEPS

READ:  Philippians 2:1-13

In Your Journal:

#1 - Write a prayer of praise that is inspired by the words of this passage.  Make it personal to you.

#2 - Reflect on the last 24 hours.  How did the Lord work in your personal life, your professional/academic life, and your relationships?

STUDY

Consider how God has taught you "TOUGHNESS" in the past 24 hours.

*Share your example on Comments.

"Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose."

  1. It is so hard to not be selfish this time of the year especially to shop. I personally felt a great feeling of family today and my wife and I learned that we are ready to start a new tradition next year with all of the family. I am thankful for having god in my life and I pray that my wife and I can both give more to others and not in such a monetary way but in our love that means more.

  2. The Lord has taught me that anyone can be tough. It about the state of mind. No matter what you have been through recently, stress in my case, he can push you through anything.

  3. I started this journey and todays entry and scripture could not have hit any harder! We run a new CrossFit Box in Coon Rapids MN and are working through growing pains and other frustrations that come along with running a box and things of that nature but god keeps opening doors! I am learning to keep my eyes on him and to remember why we are doing this in the first place and that is to help people! Philippians 2:3 hit the nail on the head! "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather in humility value others above yourself." shook me to the core big time as its easy to become selfish or resentful when you get tired and frustrated. I am loving this journey and it is greatly impacting my life. Thank you!!
