JOURNEY - DAY 20

TODAY'S STEPS

READ:  Psalm 41

In Your Journal:

#1 - Write a prayer of praise that is inspired by the words of this passage.  Make it personal to you.

#2 - Reflect on the last 24 hours.  How did the Lord work in your personal life, your professional/academic life, and your relationships?

STUDY

Define the term and concept of "PERSEVERANCE."

*Share your definition and thoughts on Comments.

"All my enemies whisper together against me;
they imagine the worst for me, saying,
“A vile disease has beset him;
he will never get up from the place where he lies.”
Even my close friend, whom I trusted,
he who shared my bread,
has lifted up his heel against me.

10 But you, O Lord, have mercy on me;
    raise me up, that I may repay them.
11 I know that you are pleased with me,
    for my enemy does not triumph over me.
12 In my integrity you uphold me
    and set me in your presence forever.
13 Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel,
    from everlasting to everlasting.
Amen and Amen."

  1. I LOVE that video - it's one of my favorites! I cry every time I see it because his dad reminds me so much of my dad. Love it!

    I haven't posted every day, but I have followed the journey every day it's been posted. I've not ever journaled before, and I wasn't sure exactly how it was going to go. I wanted to tell you all THANK YOU for the work you've put into this project because I've come to find I really like the journaling, and it's helped me focus much more in my daily readings. Thank you!!!

  2. What a fitting passage for today. As I struggle with being a good manager in running a small business and being able to witness and be a Christ-like example. It is often hard to be an "enforcer" in business and be able to still share the gospel. Co-workers who I once considered friends now turn against me. I know I need to PERSEVERE so the Lord can see me through this. (Hopefully to greener pastures that I never imagined)

    God bless you all,

    Ralph

    Only two defining forces have
    ever offered to die for you,
    Jesus Christ and the American G. I.
    One died for your soul;
    the other for your freedom

  3. It is funny how this Journey seems to correlate with what is going on in my life. I just recently had shoulder surgery when I was focusing on keeping poise. Now dealing the the immense pain and a difficult machine that I have to be hooked up to, perseverance is the perfect word to describe what I must gain from this. Thank You for the posts and Thanks be to The Lord.
