READNehemiah 3

REFLECT: Who built the wall?  What level of experience did they have in building walls?

RESPOND:   Name one example of someone in history who proved lack of experience was NOT a hindrance to success.

"Next to him Shallum the son of Hallohesh, ruler of half the district of Jerusalem, repaired, he and his daughters."

  1. It was hard for me to think of a single person that proved lack of experience was not a hinderance to success. The best example I could think of was the American Militiamen in the Revolutionary War.

These men were farmers and laborers who came together with what they could find or were given by other contries to defend what they loved and believed in. Their inexperience in battle and war was not a hinderence to their success of breaking the United States away from Great Britain, and we have them to thank for beggining this great country we live in.

  2. I came to thinking about my Grandparents, my Mom and Dad, and now me as a Father and Grandfather. Being a parent is/was the hardest task I ever took on with no experience. It's easy to look at my "wall" to find flaws and weaknesses, but if I hadn't been able to model the foundation that was laid by my parents and grandparents I would have never been successful.
