The places where I have felt the love described in 1 Corinthians 13 are at home, at my church and at conferences. At home my parents are constantly showing their love for me in all of their actions. When I am at church I feel love from everybody I speak to and in the time that we spend together. At conferences, I feel God's love coming from the speakers and all the other believers who are there as well.

Love is a foundation to everything we have in life. There are times, however, that I think we get that confused with the understanding of love that is out in the world. The love that is talked about in these verses is a giving and selfless love. The love that we see demonstrated in our everyday lives is sometimes selfish and all about "What's in it for me." When you read the verse again, read 4 -7 and replace the words "love" or "it" with your name. That totally changed my perspective of this verse!
ReplyDeleteI guess I should also answer the question that was posed here too. I feel the love described in the verse in three places in my life. I feel it and see it in my relationship with Jesus! I see it in my relationship with my wife and I see it in my children and in my family as we do life together!
