REFLECT:  Why did the chief priests, scribes, and Herod NOT seek Jesus?

"Then Herod, when he saw that he had been tricked by the wise men, became furious, and he sent and killed all the male children in Bethlehem and in all that region who were two years old or under, according to the time that he had ascertained from the wise men."

  1. Work is definitely one. The stress of having to get things done in the workplace can overcome going to Church, reading the Bible nightly, etc. A relationship with someone who isn't religious. I had that experience before, and though it didn't last long, i was being drawn away from the Lord because she didn't appreciate my faith. Also, a reason to be drawn away from the Lord would just be because you felt that His presence wasn't needed. The expression "No such thing as an atheist in a foxhole" is, in my mind, meant for the other side as well. I have personally had times where I was drawn away from Jesus because life was so good for me that I was taking His blessings for granted.
