  1. Realizing that everything that I do is for HIS glory, and not my own. In reference to Crossfit, my ego often gets in the way. By giving the outcome to God I am following his will and allowing him to bless me in not only my workout, but my life. I worked a sales job awhile back and one major analogy that was used was, "burn your ships". They believed we had to burn any prior engagement that we thought was more important than sales. I believe it's the same with following Christ.

Side note: I heard about 'Crossfit faith' in reading Rich's book. I'm not sure if this is the affiliate he was writing about. Regardless, I'm excited to be here! Thank you for the post!

  2. The gospel gave me the power to leave the life that consisted of living to impress others and trying to make others proud, partying and the negative influences of my so called 'friends'. Now I can follow Christ because of the good news that has freed me.

  3. I can not leave everything to follow Christ, but I must do all for Christ. My job, my workouts, which influences my job, all must be for his glory. If our work is not for Christ; then it's all worth nothing.

  5. I've struggled with not putting my faith in God and trying to do everything myself. I doubt a lot like Simon did when Jesus told him to cast the nets. Time and time again he proves me wrong when I sit down and trust him. Its humbling to know that I have no control and that I need to give up everything I do to him.

  6. The gospel has given me power to share my desires with God but ultimately allow Him to take control of my life. I've tried to do things my way in past relationships.. let's just say I've been humbled and realize that I will always fail without His direction. Now I look to him for wisdom in every aspect of my life -- current relationships (esp. with my significant other), career, how I spend my time and talents to glorify God.
