1) It can show you your weaknesses and help you correct/better them.
2) Losing is a way to keep us humble and knowing that God is omnipotent.
3) Losing can be an oppurtunity to witness to others. If we seem more “human” because we have lost, then it may open doors.

I totally agree with the items above.
I do remember watching a documentary on the 1980 Olympic hockey team when they beat Russia. It was interesting to hear the Russian perspective and see them in the video… one Russian commented that he watched the USA players at the end with all their excitement because Russia had won for so long… they no longer had that joy after a win. They watched in awe of the young Americans.
Another instance… I talked to a friend/coach the other day and her team had not lost a game in nearly 4 years. They lost this season and it actually has been a blessing, because the pressure of that is off and the players can focus on what they need to do… not the record and not the expectation to continue it. They just do their best now and set their goals accordingly.
We have to have our peaks and valleys in life. If we stay on top of the mountain, most people will eventually not appreciate the beauty, the hard work, and all that made that possible. I would say that is the same with how we sometimes pray more when we are “low” and when things are good we sometimes forget. I know I have done this.
