Make a list of 5 things that make you susceptible to fear.  Then, consider how these items could be a blessing, rather than a hindrance to progress.

"You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do." (Eleanor Roosevelt)

  1. 1. Failure
    2. Spiders
    3. Meeting Strangers
    4. Death
    5. Having Others Judge Me

    1) I hate the idea of failing in anything, but a failure can open the door to a better idea or a new avenue I never would have thought of otherwise. 2) I hate spiders, but it isn't their fault they are so ugly. All of God's creatures serve a purpose and I should remember that. 3) I don't like meeting strangers (networking events) but it is a great opportunity to expand my social circle and find new friends, which always adds to my quality of life. 4) I'm afraid of death, but as a Christian I believe there is life afterwards that is way better and that is exciting! 5) I hate situations where others are judging me, but some times they can call me out on behavior that I shouldn't be doing anywyay. This may make me mad but it also helps.

    Whew. Cool exercise!
