all throughout our everyday journey we see a multitude of these temporary things referenced here in Corinthians... money, popularity, power, affection of another. it is an unfortunate truth, that in the world we live in, there is very little we can do to permanently remove these temptations from our lives. However, we should find solace and strength in the fact that, just as Paul suggested in the quoted verse, these things are all temporary and thus cannot bring one true joy. Buyers remorse, greed, and adultery all occur when we try to indulge in our surroundings to make our journeys/lives better, and ultimately, do more harm than good. However, by keeping our eyes on the unseen-- on Him-- we will find true happiness, in this world and the next.
ReplyDeleteTo be like Jesus we have to listen too. Not just preach.
ReplyDeleteThank you, well said
ReplyDeleteIdeally I see Christ. Unfortunately I let other things block my vision, only to get off track from the journey. If i stay focused on the unseen, I see all the better.

ReplyDeleteWe lost a friend last week. He will be missed! But we will see him again!
