In Your Journal:
#1 - Write a prayer of praise that is inspired by the words of this passage. Make it personal to you.
#2 - Reflect on the last 24 hours. How did the Lord work in your personal life? Your health? Your faith? Write out your thoughts.

"Yet this I call to mind
and therefore I have hope:
22 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
for his compassions never fail.
23 They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
24 I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion;
therefore I will wait for him.”
25 The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him,
to the one who seeks him;
26 it is good to wait quietly
for the salvation of the Lord."
#2 - I teach math in a public high school, and this school year, the kids in my class have to write down their "weekly win" every week and tell us something good that happened in the week. This month, I added to those entries, and they have to write down every day what they are thankful for. Yesterday, this kid wrote down he was thankful for God who saved him and for watching over him during his surgeries. The particular kid has epilepsy, has one bad arm, and continues to have multiple seizures; anyone who doesn't know him may look at him and think he is "lame" because his body is broken....but he stands mightily for God!! It was really cool to listen to him profess his love for God and listen to his praise for God, what he prays for, how God has taken care of him - it was awesome because praising God in school in front of your peers may not be considered "cool", but he didn't care - he knows and understands God's faithfulness!
ReplyDeleteThat is wonderful, Amie! I will remember this and use it in my preschool class. Too often children forget what is good in their lives, when so many are going through rough patches. Thanks for helping them to remember, and see that others are walking the same path.
ReplyDeleteI have reflected on so many blessings in the last 24 hours. I saw my dad and had a good talk with him and we don't talk much. I was blessed to see the patience the Lord has in me and how he continues to be by my side even when I am not looking for him. I am thankful for having my close friends and even getting closer to the Lord each day.
ReplyDelete"His compassions never fail."
ReplyDelete"Great is your faithfulness."
I can certainly attest to these. There is not room to publish the miracles God has performed in my life, especially when it seemed there was no hope.
I am here for a second day, doesn't seem like much for for someone like me with these things it is. The willingness to change is there but the fear to change still is there also. A constant battle inside is raging at all times. One side says run back to where I am comfortable, the other side knows a change needs to happen. I really hope the change does happen over the next 40 days. It needs to happen.
