JOURNEY - DAY 1

LEARN TO WALK WITH YOUR STAFF...

Today, we are beginning a 40-day Journey that will take us to Christmas Day.  Our goal is to let God work in us, producing a  true spiritual renewal.  This will only occur if we commit to completing the entire 40-day program, and walk in faith that God can do wonderful works in our hearts.

Believe - So You Can Achieve!

WHAT WILL YOU NEED TO BEGIN?

Purchase a full notepad available for journaling the entire 40 days.  Each day, set aside 30 minutes to complete these tasks.  It is recommended you perform the task each morning when you first wake up.  Our posts will be available by midnight CST.

TODAY'S STEPS

READ:  Psalm 8 (below)

In Your Journal:  Write a prayer of praise that is inspired by the words of this Psalm.  Make it personal to you.

*Feel free to Comment on the post each day - use this as an opportunity for encouragement to others, or a way to confess to your fellow believers.

"O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

You have set your glory
    above the heavens.
From the lips of children and infants
    you have ordained praise
because of your enemies,
to silence the foe and the avenger.

When I consider your heavens,
    the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
what is man that you are mindful of him,
the son of man that you care for him?
You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings
and crowned him with glory and honor.

You made him ruler over the works of your hands;
you put everything under his feet:
all flocks and herds,
and the beasts of the field,
the birds of the air,
and the fish of the sea,
all that swim the paths of the seas.

O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!"

  2. What a great start! Praising the Lord is awesome! And I really enjoy writing out in my journal these praises. I struggle all the time to spend time daily walking with Christ and I hope with this 40 day journey I can not miss a day. Keep me in your prayers that I am devoted everyday please!

  3. Lord you are amazing and wonderful. All powerful and magnificent...... Your creation is perfect in that it is. Thank you Lord for all that you made us and all that you made for us.

  4. Thank you, sweet Jesus. Your word always comforts and soothes my troubled heart. I pray the next 40 days develops and strengthens my discipline to turn to you first. To sit my worries at your feet. To trust that you love me and know what is best for me. Thank you for making me just "a little less than the heavenly beings". That was the complement I needed to hear today. :)

  7. Starting this a little late but I think it's going to be great. Want to take the "steam" coming off Easter and help it renew me. I struggle with keeping this type of devotion up on the weekends, so pray for me brothers/sisters! Thanks for doing this CFF. -Kt

  8. I just stumbled upon the 40-day journey last night... and normally I wake up and head straight to work or to the gym, never prioritizing my time with the Lord. The suggestion that I start each day with time with Him is something I really needed to hear. I know that devotion to Him should be my number one priority, but lately that has been lacking in my life. I often forget to praise Him for the many incredible blessings he provides, so by starting this journey by praising him and thinking of the many things he has blessed me with (even though I am so undeserving) was really refreshing! He is SO good and so gracious. Pray that I will always make the Lord my priority, not just for the next 40 days.

  10. I too am starting this journey late, I have so much to do, this is the best way to get started for the day! Psalm 8 is beautiful, it reminds us how great our God is but yet how much He loves and favors us. My hope is that I never forget to give God all the glory for the great things He has done in my life.

  11. I have stumbled upon this very late, I have been brought closer to my faith by Rich Froning through his videos and book, now I have decided to try my best yo glorify Christ in my lifetime first by being a father to my two beautiful children. Even though the mother and I are not together I want to try my best for them

  12. "my hope is that I never forget to give God all the glory for the great things he has done in my life"-Elsa. I am right there with you, it so easy to forget. I am starting to put Studying God's word and praying as the number one priority in my life and this 40-day journey is helping me achieve that.

  13. Being a christian my relationship with Jesus means more to me than anything. I have a constant thirst to learn and grow in my faith just as I have a constant thirst to learn and grow in my fitness. I strongly believe that strength is beauty and I want to continue to get stronger both physically and mentally. I really hope that this will be the start of a never ending journey.

And for all of us starting this later than planned... It's better late than never.
