REFLECT: How do I react in the storm?

RESOLVE:  Write down one verse from this chapter that speaks the heart of Christ to you.

"And when he got into the boat, his disciples followed him. 24 And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by the waves; but he was asleep."

  1. Matthew 8:26 speaks to me the most. Jesus wants us to be calm and understand that he is beside us in the most troubling of moments. We can ask for his assistance and guidance, however, we do not need to know why things are happening the way they are. 1 Corinthians 10:13 lets us know that exactly.

  2. Just what I needed this morning, I shall have faith in all that is put in front of me.

  3. There is no doubt that it is easy for me to say that I have faith; however, when a storm comes I find myself just as the disciples were - frightened. Shame on me. Again, wise song writer Jessie Brown Pounds in 1887 wrote "Anywhere with Jesus." May we truly believe the words of this hymn.
