Over the past 4+ years of following .com I’ve had many occasions to be dismayed; whether it be the song lyrics, photos, or language used. And then I grow more concerned when the voices of objection are shouted down in the comments by those saying, “What’s the big deal? Leave if you don’t like it. Grow Up!” etc.
But then people like Speal, Lindsay Smith, Froning & Holmberg raise their unashamed Christian voices, both in word and deed, and I’m again inspired by their example and faith.
Help me, Lord God, to never, ever, be ashamed to call you Savior.

I am so thankful for the fact that God is using some of CrossFit’s best athletes to proclaim his name. Their boldness inspires me to stand firm in my faith. I CrossFit at a box in a very liberal town that’s full of people who into academia and science. It’s difficult sometimes to want to speak out when you know that being a Christian isn’t the norm or isn’t popular with those around you.

Great comments, I agree 100%. It is awesome that those top athletes are so quick to deflect the glory and remain completely humble, focused on a higher purpose.

I’ve agree with the first comment, even this site is really encouraging and positive.
Spealler’s humility is so inspiring, we can all learn a lot from these people, it would really challenge the Christian stereotype so many people have.

This passage does need to be committed to our memory. I have a scripture that I say aloud bf every wod! I know at times it is difficult especially when u go to a box w a lot of non-believers. I pray daily for God to use me as an instrument for his purpose! Thank u for this site, it is much needed!!

I agree. It is hard to be unashamed at times. There is so many times that I do not want to share the goodness of what Christ has done in my life. But then, I reflect on the gospel and what Christ has done for me. How he came off his heavenly throne and was beaten, humiliated, spit on, mocked, and eventually murdered in the worst way possible. Then I ask myself, “If he was unashamed to do all of that, then why should I be ashamed to tell the greatest story of the greatest man that every step foot on Earth.” He has already done 100% of the work. The only thing he has asked in return is obedience! In living out his word and proclaiming his story. If I really have the approval of the only one who matters (God), then why should I be scared if I am rejected by some. After all, he was rejected by every single person when we chose sin over God.
Christ is all and to him be all the glory!
