READ:  Ephesians 4:17-31

REFLECT:  How is the "new life" in Christ characterized?

RESPOND:  Identify 10 items, and/or individuals, that you need to give to God.
*Any fears, worries, jealousy, anger, bitterness, resentment?  Give it to God.
*Anyone sick or hurting, and you can't fix it?  Give them to God.
*Anyone living a life opposed to God, and you can't convince them?  Give them to God.
*Anyone, or anything else you can't resolve?  Give it to God.

Write these three Scripture passages on a 3x5 note card.  Read it every hour, on the hour...

1 - "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, ⁴⁵ that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. ⁴⁶ If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? ⁴⁷ And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that?" (Matthew 5:44-47)

2 - "For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. ¹⁵ But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. " (Matthew 6:14-15)

3 - "See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many." (Hebrews 12:15)

Write a letter to the person (or people) you have been harboring resentment toward.  Explain exactly why.  Tell them you have forgiven them entirely.

Then, DESTROY the letter - DON'T SEND IT.

Spiritual WOD - 2/20/2012

Spend time in prayer today for someone who is 'tough to love.'  This may be someone who obviously dislikes you, or someone who has wronged you.

Pray for someone who has wronged you in the last year.  Then, find a way to show you have forgiven them.  Send a note, make a call, invite them to lunch...do whatever it takes.

All day today:  On the hour...every hour...stop and pray "The Lord's Prayer."

"Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us today our daily bread.  Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one." (Matthew 6:9-13)
