"Everything that goes into a life of
pleasing God has been miraculously given to us by getting to know,
personally and intimately, the One who invited us to God. The best
invitation we ever received! We were also given absolutely terrific
promises to pass on to you—your tickets to participation in the life of
God..." (2 Peter 1 - The Message)

"The thought of my pain, my homelessness, is bitter poison. I think of it constantly, and my spirit is depressed. Yet hope returns when I remember this one thing:
The Lord's unfailing love and mercy still continue, Fresh as the morning, as sure as the sunrise.
The Lord is all I have, and so in him I put my hope. The Lord is good to everyone who trusts in him, So it is best for us to wait in patience — to wait for him to save us — And it is best to learn this patience in our youth." (Lamentations 3:19-27)

Commit this passage to memory: "Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” 14 Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 15 Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” 16 As it is, you boast in your arrogant schemes. All such boasting is evil. 17 If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them." (James 4:13-17)

"Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: 'It is mine to avenge; I will repay,' says the Lord. 20On the contrary: If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head. 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." (Romans 12:17-21)
