Spiritual WOD - 2/9/2012

Practice self-discipline by restraining anger.  When you are tempted to let anger control you today, re-focus and pray.

"I'm telling you to love your enemies. Let them bring out the best in you, not the worst. When someone gives you a hard time, respond with the energies of prayer, for then you are working out of your true selves, your God-created selves." (Matthew 5:44)

Speak when you are angry - and you'll make the best speech you'll ever regret. (Dr. Laurence J. Peter)

Spiritual WOD - 2/8/2012

Practice self-discipline today by NOT holding your tongue.  Speak your truth!  Allow yourself, and all around you, to be blessed by your actions.

" My son, if your heart is wise, then my heart will be glad; 16 my inmost being will rejoice when your lips speak what is right." (Proverbs 23:15-16)

Spiritual WOD - 2/7/2012

Practice self-discipline today by "holding your tongue."  Make your goal to speak only by this rule...

"Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen." (Ephesians 4:29)

Spiritual WOD - 2/6/2012

Define "self-discipline."  Why, and how, is it important in our everyday lives?

“If I want to be great I have to win the victory over myself... self-discipline.” (Harry S. Truman)

"...make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control..." (2 Peter 1:5-6)
